L’objectif de cet entretien est de dépasser les approximations et amalgames qui ont caricaturé le rôle du religieux dans la mobilisation arabe de 2011. En effet, depuis le début des « révolutions arabes » le facteur religieux s’est progressivement manifesté et a été analysé, trop souvent de façon simpliste et erronée. On a accordé une importance disproportionnée à « l’islam » dans le cours des événements au détriment de nouvelles formes de politisations qui elles n’étaient pas religieuses, contrairement aux idées reçues. ArabsThink.com a eu l’occasion d’interviewer Omar Saghi, écrivain, scénariste, et politologue. Il est notamment l’auteur de l’ouvrage « Paris-La Mecque, Sociologie du pèlerinage » (PUF 2010). Anthony Shadid

Anthony Shadid is the Beirut bureau chief for The New York Times. Before joining the Times, Mr. Shadid served as the Baghdad bureau chief of The Washington Post. Over a fifteen-year career, he has reported from most countries in the Middle East and broader Arab world. Anthony Shadid was awarded the Pulitzer Prize twice, in 2004 and 2010, for his coverage of the war in Iraq. In 2007, he was a finalist for the same prize for his coverage in Lebanon. Anthony Shadid is also the author of two books, “Legacy of the Prophet: Despots, Democrats and the New Politics of Islam,” (2000) and “Night Draws Near: Iraq’s People in the Shadow of America’s War” (2005). L'Engagement Politique - الإلتزام السياسي

La Révolution du Jasmin avec la chute de Ben Ali, symbole d’un système autoritaire et policier, a permis l’émergence d’un véritable espace public et l’affirmation libre de la société civile tunisienne. Elle a initié une vague inédite de contestations et révoltes dans les pays arabes, brisant la logique répressive et encourageant la prise de conscience politique et l’espoir de devenir acteur du changement.

Cette révolution a laissé un vide propice au débat, aux concertations collectives et à la réflexion sur la nature du régime et sur le chemin que les tunisiens souhaitent emprunter. Elle s’est accompagnée d’un nouveau rapport au politique et a stimulé la prise d’initiative, l’esprit civique et l’engagement politique.
